Better life with upcycle to Open Third Grain in Yokohama on August 13
Kanagawa-based Better life with upcycle will grand open its new venue, Third Grain, in Sumiyoshicho, Naka Ward, Yokohama, on August 13. The opening had originally been planned for July but was delayed by material procurement issues. The space will operate as a cafe during the day and a taproom at night.
New Venue
Better life with upcycle is a craft brewery based in Ebina, Kanagawa, known for brewing beer with an upcycled approach that replaces part of the malt with bread crusts. The project has built its identity by carrying the craftsmanship of baking into brewing.
The new venue, Third Grain, will give that concept a physical home. It is located at 4-48 Sumiyoshicho, Naka Ward, Yokohama, in the Nakazato Building 1F, just a short walk from Exit 9 of Kannai Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway. Business hours are 11:00 to 22:30, with last orders at 22:00, and the shop is closed on Tuesdays.
The space will have two faces. During the day, it will function as a cafe where guests can enjoy bread, coffee, and beer. At night, it will switch into a taproom for craft beer and food. That dual use reflects the brewery's effort to create a place where beer can be part of everyday life, not just something to take home.
The opening was originally announced for July, but was pushed back because of delays in sourcing materials. The new date, August 13, marks a milestone for a project that started with baking, moved into brewing, and now extends to a place where the beer can be served directly to customers.
For drinkers in the Kannai area, Third Grain adds a new way to experience Better life with upcycle's story in a setting built around beer, food, and the brand's upcycled identity.
