Ishikawa Brewery to Hold Its July Kansha Day on July 25-26
Ishikawa Brewery in Fussa, Tokyo will host its July Kansha Day on July 25 and 26. The event will feature sake and beer draft sales, brewery tours, and limited food items that highlight the brewery’s fermented-food style.
Ishikawa Brewery, founded in 1863 in Fussa, Tokyo, will hold its July Kansha Day on July 25 and 26. The brewery produces the sake brand Tama-jiman and the craft beers Tama no Megumi and TOKYO BLUES. Its grounds also include the brewery buildings, a beer workshop, the direct-sales shop Sakera, and dining facilities, making it a place where brewing and food culture can be experienced together.
This month’s Kansha Day follows the brewery’s regular market-style format. Visitors can buy sake and beer by volume, and reservation-based tours of the sake brewery and beer workshop will also be offered. For the summer edition, the brewery is again planning cup sales of a Japanese-sake-based shio-koji lemon sour, which had been well received last summer.
The outdoor market will feature limited-time food and drinks made with fermented ingredients and regional products. Confirmed items include the brewery’s amazake chai, a croissant sandwich made with ham and bacon from Ohtama Ham, an anman filled with sweet bean paste and mascarpone cheese, and pork buns and pizza buns made with TOKYO X pork. Sake and beer lucky bags, along with event-only sweets and breads containing sake lees, are also planned.
The appeal of Ishikawa Brewery’s event is that it brings together the brewery’s core products, seasonal specialties, and the atmosphere of its historic grounds in one visit. For beer fans and sake fans alike, it offers a clear look at how a long-established brewery in Fussa continues to link brewing, retail, and dining in a single destination.
