Memory Man

Teenage Brewing has introduced Memory Man, a new beer listed on its online store and featured on Instagram. The beer comes in a 500ml can and is priced at JPY 1,700. Its style is DDH DIPA with 8.0% ABV.

The beer takes inspiration from the legendary analog delay unit "Memory Man," a piece of gear that has been beloved by guitarists since the 1970s. According to the product description, the aroma opens with ripe tropical fruit, citrus, and stone fruit, while the layers of hop character unfold slowly, like the lingering echo of an analog delay. The beer is described as having a full body, a smooth mouthfeel, and a firm hop presence, with sweetness and bitterness building depth together.

The hop bill includes Freestyle Nelson Sauvin, Peacharine, Mosaic, and Mosaic Cryo. That combination suggests a beer designed to emphasize aromatic volume and a long finish. Teenage also lists pairing music for the release: Sigur Rós’ ( ) and The Verve’s Storm In Heaven, which fits the brewery’s close relationship with music.

Teenage Brewing is based in Tokigawa, Saitama, and was founded by musician-turned-brewer Daichi Mori. The brewery’s approach centers on freedom, contemporary expression, and the sensibility of teenage years. From its home in a town surrounded by nature and clean water, it has focused on characterful beers such as IPA, Hazy IPA, and Sour IPA.

Memory Man sits neatly within that identity: a beer that translates sonic resonance into flavor and aroma, and another example of Teenage Brewing’s aim to create a drink that leaves a memorable impression.
