Hop BroTomoki Someya of Arinomi Brewery has a wild career path. He’s a former engineer who worked on digital camera design at Casio Computer Co.

Hop BroAnd his family used to run a pear farm. After getting hooked on ale as a working adult, he interned at Storm Breaker Brewing in Portland in 2017. After that, he trained for three years at Vector Brewing in Asakusabashi, and opened the brewery in his hometown of Ichikawa in 2024.

Hop BroThe flagship is an IPA made with beets. It uses beets grown by Mr. Miyauchi at Ichikawa Farm in Ichikawa, and it's a vivid pink color. The visual impact is huge.

Hop BroAlso, Lager No. 12 has become the official beer of the Ichikawa Soccer Club, and it won bronze at JGBA2025. An official beer for a local soccer team really symbolizes community roots, doesn't it?
MugiBeing able to drink beer from a local brewery while watching soccer is the best!
Hop BroThey also make things like New Local Saison and Hard Picnic, and beyond the regular lineup, they have a lot of one-off limited beers. Maybe because the founder came from engineering, it's interesting that he uses version numbers like Beta 1.0 and 2.0 in the beer names.
MugiThey're planning pear liquor too, since they're from a pear-farming family, right? It's a brewery packed with the taste of Ichikawa!
