Huitriere, the craft beer brand based in Akkeshi, Hokkaido, has received international recognition for its beer MIMOSA SAISON, which won the top gold award in the Brut Beers category at World Beer Awards 2026. The announcement was posted on the brewery’s official Instagram account on August 16.

MIMOSA SAISON is brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Triskel, and Barbe Rouge hops, and is described as carrying aromas of white grape, elderflower, orange, and gooseberry. It is built as a hybrid between saison yeast and champagne yeast, giving it a light body and fine bubbles. The beer is 4.5% ABV and comes in a 750 ml bottle.

Huitriere’s name means “oyster bed” in French, and the brewery positions itself as a brand that accompanies the value of time in Akkeshi, a town known for oysters. Its official site also emphasizes that each beer is linked to a scene or moment in time. In that context, MIMOSA SAISON fits the brewery’s direction well: a beer designed to be served well chilled, with a restrained but distinct sense of celebration.
