RIO BREWING & CO. Announces NUAGES, a Wheat Beer Made with TOWER RECORDS
RIO BREWING & CO. has announced NUAGES, a collaborative wheat beer created with TOWER RECORDS. The beer combines the gentle softness of wheat with coriander and orange peel aromas, while honey adds a subtle floral accent.
A soft wheat beer built around spice and citrus
RIO BREWING & CO. has introduced its new beer, NUAGES. The name means “clouds” in French, reflecting the beer’s concept: a gentle, cloud-like wheat character that envelops brighter aromatic elements.
The beer’s main flavor notes are coriander and orange peel. Coriander contributes a fresh, lightly spicy lift, while orange peel brings a clean citrus aroma. These notes are balanced by the rounded softness of wheat. Honey is used as a hidden accent, adding floral depth without making sweetness the dominant impression.
A collaboration connecting beer and music
NUAGES was developed as a beer collaboration between TOWER RECORDS and RIO BREWING. The official description compares the honey accent to the sound of a lightly picked guitar, highlighting the beer’s connection to music and its delicate, layered character.
The label artwork was created by illustrator PIKATA, extending the collaboration’s identity beyond the liquid itself.
From Belgian brewing culture to Kashiwa
The brewery behind NUAGES, RIO BREWING & CO., draws on experience studying and developing beer in Belgium. In Japan, it began brewing in Tokyo before expanding to Kashiwa, Chiba, in 2021. The brewery also takes part in community-building efforts around Kashiwa-no-ha while continuing to share beer culture from Japan and Belgium with drinkers around the world.
NUAGES brings that background together with a contemporary music collaboration. Its combination of soft wheat, refreshing coriander, citrus peel, and a subtle honey finish should appeal to drinkers looking for an aromatic beer with a gentle, approachable profile.
