In the spring of Kyoto, the eve festival that lets you enjoy craft beer with a post-bath feeling is back. Maisonette Co., Ltd. will hold “Kyoto Yugawari Craft Beer Eve Festival 2026” on April 25 and 26 at Kyoto City Hall Plaza, ahead of the main event, “Kyoto Yugawari Craft Beer Festival 2026,” which will take place on May 2 and 3 at the futsal court next to Fushimi Chikara no Yu in Fushimi.

Eight breweries will set up at the venue, centered on local Kyoto makers. OUR BREWING, KYOTO NUDE BREWERY, Ichijoji Brewery, Woodmill Brewery Kyoto, Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery, Yamorido, Aldea Yamashiro Beers, and Free Spirits Brewing will all be there, and in addition to individual servings, tasting sets featuring four 150 ml pours and an original plate will also be sold. Food will be handled by three trucks: HOT DOG BASE, Additive-Free Takoyaki Kohaku, and Gori’s Kitchen, creating a setup where visitors can browse around while snacking on light dishes that pair well with beer.

When thinking about the compatibility of "yugawari" and beer, Tendo Brewery (Ichiraku), a brewpub in Tendo Onsen in Yamagata, also comes to mind. Located inside the hot spring inn Yumoto Ichiraku, the brewery is known for beers such as "Sei-Sakurabo (Saint Cherry)," made with cherries, and "Mr. A," which highlights the aroma of soba. Guests staying there can enjoy draft beer fresh from the tank after bathing in the hot springs. Bottled sales are also available, making it appealing to take a drink along on your journey.

The Kyoto eve festival can be seen as an event where you can experience the appeal of a beer that makes you want to drink it after bathing, right in the middle of the city. Since it is located just steps from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway, it is easy to stop by after work or in between sightseeing. For anyone who wants to casually enjoy freshly brewed beer and the openness of the outdoors in springtime Kyoto, this is a noteworthy event.
