Osaka Shibutani Brewing in Fujiidera, Osaka, has announced the release of its new beer, Lemon Weizen.

The beer combines a German-style wheat beer, or weizen, with lemon. According to the brewery, it offers a clean acidity and a gentle bitterness, resulting in a light and refreshing profile. Osaka Shibutani Brewing calls it the most refreshing beer in its history, making it a natural choice for warm-weather drinking.

The brewery recommends pairing Lemon Weizen with dishes such as zucchini short pasta and seafood spaghetti with tomato sauce. Its bright acidity is also said to work well with fried foods, helping refresh the palate between bites. The soft mouthfeel associated with wheat beer is paired with a citrus character designed to complement food.

Osaka Shibutani Brewing operates a brewery and direct-sales shop in Fujiidera. Its lineup includes the Kawachi no Eru series, covering styles such as weizen, pilsner, pale ale, and stout. The brewery is also known for beers made with locally connected ingredients, including fruits and agricultural products from the southern Osaka area.

The brewery traces its identity to Shozaburo Shibutani, who is credited with producing and selling the first beer brewed by a Japanese brewer in Japan. Today, Osaka Shibutani Brewing continues to promote a locally rooted beer culture while developing approachable craft beers.

Lemon Weizen is available at the brewery’s direct-sales shop in Fujiidera. The shop is generally open from 11:00 to 18:00 Tuesday through Sunday. Customers should check the official website before visiting, as opening hours and availability may change.
