May Guide

Kakuchi Asakura, in Kyoto's Kamigyo Ward, posted its May business hours and craft beer tap list on Instagram. The post explains that the shop is closed every Tuesday and Thursday, while also announcing that it will be open on Tuesday, May 5 only. As part of its Golden Week plans, it also revealed that it will be setting up booths at "Kyoto Yuhagari Craft Beer Festival 2026" on May 2 and 3, and at "Nishijin Fes" on May 23.

This Week's Pick up Brewery

This week's Pick up Brewery is EBINA BEER from Kanagawa Prefecture. The two beers listed are:

- EBINA LAGER / EBINA BEER
- HEFE WEIZEN / EBINA BEER

Both are 5.0% ABV. With a lager and a Weizen, it's an easy pair for the first drink of the day, making it a lineup you can start with casually and without any pretense.

Tap List at the Shop

The following craft beers are also listed at the shop:

- Saruyama Shikao Sake Yeast Beer / Minoh Beer
- ogna IPA / Minami Shinshu Beer
- Weizen / Fujizakura Heights Beer
- Wo-Xiang Red Aleaf / CRAFT BEER BASE
- Bud Bunny Lager / HINO BREWING

Kakuchi Asakura is a beer pub in a residential area of Kyoto's Kamigyo Ward, where you can enjoy craft beer and sake in a standing-bar style. In addition to five draft taps, the shop also supports growler fills, and the post says it welcomes customers bringing their own growlers. Because it's in a quiet neighborhood, it's a good spot for people who want to take their time choosing drinks and comparing different beers.

Kome to Mugi Fest Also Announced

In the latter half of the post, it also announced the "Kome to Mugi Festival in Kyoto 2026," to be held on June 28. It is being introduced as an outdoor event where you can enjoy sake, craft beer, and food all together, and it is notable that the shop's social media goes beyond simply introducing taps and also shares information about nearby events.
