The beer pub Mugibaru in Nishi-Kamata, Tokyo, announced on Instagram that its 2nd-anniversary original beer, “Mugibaru 2nd Anniversary Kinako-Colored Fluffy Hazy,” had sold out.

According to the beer database site, the beer’s style was listed as IPA / New England / Hazy, with an ABV of 6% and an IBU of 15. It was a limited release brewed by Tokaido BEER Kawasaki-juku Brewery in Kanagawa Prefecture as part of Mugibaru’s anniversary project.

As its name suggests, it is the kind of beer that makes it easy to imagine a hazy appearance with a soft, cloudy texture. Drinkers’ comments on related databases describe tropical aromas, citrus notes, hints reminiscent of mango, and a silky mouthfeel. Bitterness is kept in check, and the design seems aimed at highlighting hop-driven aroma and juiciness.

Mugibaru is a beer pub in the Kamata area that is easy to drop into, offering a wide range of options from everyday pints to limited-edition brews. This anniversary beer ended with a sold-out finish, but original projects created by the shop itself have the appeal of bottling the atmosphere unique to that place into a single glass. It will be worth keeping an eye on future limited beers and new taps.
