Choryo Shuzo, based in Koryo, Nara Prefecture, has announced a collaboration beer with Temescal Brewing through its online shop. The product is listed as "Mosaic / Superdelic WEST COAST IPA," while the detailed description presents it as a lemon-scented West Coast Pilsner. Shipping is scheduled from June 18, and the fill date is listed as June 17.

The beer is built on the idea behind Temescal Brewing and CHORYO's "Ride the Tiger," originally brewed in Oakland with white koji and grapefruit. In Choryo's version, the citrus element is shifted to whole lemon, with Citra, Simcoe, and Centennial Cryo providing bright citrus aromatics. The result is described as having lemon acidity, a subtle peel-like bitterness, and a clean, dry finish.

The specs list it as a Fruited West Coast Pilsner with 5.5% ABV and 29 IBU. The ingredients include barley malt, wheat malt, hops, white koji, and whole lemon paste. It is sold as a 360 ml x 6-pack for JPY 4,290 including tax. For a brewery best known for sake in Nara, this collaboration shows how koji and hops can be brought together in a single design.
