On June 4, World Beer & Dining MIHAMA BASE in Inagekaigan added West Coast Brewing’s Soul Sunset to the taps. The hazy pale ale is based on WCB’s early beer Never Enough Bass and brings grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruit, and peach-like notes. The venue also offers bottle and can takeaway.
World Beer & Dining MIHAMA BASE, a craft beer-focused spot in Inagekaigan, has tapped West Coast Brewing’s `Soul Sunset`.
`Soul Sunset` is a special version built on the recipe of WCB’s early beer `Never Enough Bass`, using the experimental hop `NZ04` from `@freestylehops`. It comes in as a hazy pale ale at 5.0% ABV. The beer is described as showing strong grapefruit and citrus aromas, along with tropical fruit and peach-like nuance, while hop bitterness and lactose sweetness keep the finish balanced.
The day’s draft lineup features nine beers in total. Alongside `GUINNESS`, `KIRIN HEARTLAND`, and `Hoegaarden White`, the taps include `Surly Mosh Pit Hazy IPA`, `Belching Beaver Viva La Beaver`, `Pizza Port Next Horizon IPA`, `NEKOBEER CLEARNEKO LIQUID はいぱー`, `Boneyard Drop the Hammer IPA`, and the new `West Coast Brewing Soul Sunset`. It is a broad mix of imported brands and Japanese breweries, making the selection easy to approach for different tastes.
MIHAMA BASE also holds a liquor retail license, so bottled and canned craft beer can be taken away. Hours are 17:00 to 25:00, with Tuesdays closed. Last orders are 24:00 for food and 24:30 for drinks, and reservations are available. It is a practical stop for drinking in, or taking beer home from, Inagekaigan.
