North Island Beer, the Ebetsu, Hokkaido brewery, will hold its 17th anniversary festival on Sunday, August 16 at EBRI. In its post, the brewery says this year’s theme is sports, drawing inspiration from 2026 events such as the Winter Olympics, the WBC and the World Cup.

The brewery’s mascot-like characters, called Beer Ties, are also part of the concept. One of them, Keguti, is shown taking on snowboarding, and the 17th-anniversary beer will be a lager style that matches his taste. The brewery says more details will be announced later.

The venue is EBRI (3-3 Higashinohoro-cho, Ebetsu, Hokkaido), about a five-minute walk from JR Nopporo Station. The event runs from 11:00 to 18:00. The post also notes that advance tickets are available via the link in the Instagram profile or by scanning a QR code in the post, and that only a few of the limited all-you-can-drink tickets remained at the time of posting.

North Island Beer was founded by brewers who trained in Canada, and the brewery’s official site describes its approach with the phrase “Beer is Art.” It offers five regular beers along with limited and seasonal releases, often highlighting local ingredients from Hokkaido. Anniversary events have become a way for the brewery to celebrate that history with drinkers in the region.
