Today’s beer selection at Mugibaru

Beer pub Mugibaru in Tokyo’s Ota Ward has introduced a varied lineup spanning several Japanese brewing regions. The current taps include “Lush Line,” a 6.5% juicy IPA from Hokkaido’s NORTH ISLAND BEER.

Also from Hokkaido, Hoppu Kodan offers “epitta -Sorachi Ace IPA-,” a 7% American IPA. The brewery’s “ikor” is listed as a next beer: a 7.5% melon Hazy IPA. These two beers give IPA fans a chance to compare different expressions from the same brewery.

Shizuoka’s Hansharo Beer contributes “Nbanana! Honey Golden Ale,” a 5% golden ale. COEDO’s “Marihana” from Saitama is a 4.5% session IPA, providing a lighter option for drinkers looking for a crisp, easygoing pint. The lineup is rounded out by Asahi’s 5.5% pilsner “Jukusen.”

The next beers mentioned include Y Market Brewing’s “Hysteric IPA,” a 7% American IPA from Aichi, and NAMACHAん Brewing’s “Namachan no IPA,” a 6% American IPA from Tokyo.

Mugibaru is also serving Hagi Yuzu Ale from Yamaguchi Ji-Beer, paired with a thick-cut ham katsu. With a location in Nishi-Kamata and dogs welcome, the pub presents itself as a relaxed stop for exploring Japanese beer over a casual meal.
