Minoh Brewery, based in Minoh City in northern Osaka, has introduced a seasonal beer called `Haikara Pils`. The beer is an Italian pilsner, developed from a recipe that began about seven years ago as a collaboration with Tim from Oxbow Brewing in Maine, USA. The brewery says it has continued to fine-tune the recipe each year, and this release comes with a new name and design.

The beer uses German noble hops generously, both during brewing and as dry hops during fermentation. Minoh describes the result as a balance of soft malt character and an elegant, full hop aroma. Fermentation and conditioning are given plenty of time, producing a beer that is light on the finish but still layered in flavor.

Minoh Brewery is known for brewing unpasteurized, unfiltered beers in a region shaped by the nature of Minoh, a city in the northern part of Osaka. For this release, sales at bars and liquor retailers begin around June 29, while the official online shop starts selling it on July 3 at 5:00 p.m. For pilsner fans, it is a release worth comparing against Minoh’s regular Pilsner to see how the hop use and overall balance differ.
