A seasonal peach beer returns

Minoh Brewery, based in Minoh City, Osaka, announced on July 29 that it will release its seasonal beer 'Momo Weizen (Wase)'. The peach beer is one of the brewery's best-known seasonal offerings and uses 'Arakawa no momo' peaches grown by Hachiki Farm in Wakayama.

According to the brewery, freshly harvested peaches are hand-pureed and used generously in the brew. The flavor combines weizen yeast character, including clove- and banana-like notes, with bright peach aromatics. The result is described as soft on the palate, with restrained sweetness and a crisp finish that still reads clearly as beer.

The first release in the series uses the 'wase' peach variety. Minoh Brewery says the peach lineup will continue with 'Hakuhou', 'Shimizu', and 'Kawanaka-jima Hakuto', allowing drinkers to compare how each variety shapes the beer. The 'wase' version is presented as having a more subtle aroma, with an elegant and juicy character.

Sales will begin in 330 ml bottles and on draft. The brewery's direct shop starts at 11:00 on July 29, retail and on-premise accounts are scheduled from around July 30, and the official online shop will start at 17:00 on August 5.

Specs listed by the brewery are: beer category, 5.0% ABV, 12 IBU, pale color, and unfiltered. The recommended serving temperature is 6-8°C. For fans of fruit-driven seasonal beers, it is a return to a format that balances peach aroma with a firmly beer-like finish.
