OUR BREWING releases Starmine, a summer Hazy IPA
OUR BREWING in Fukui has introduced Starmine, a new Hazy IPA with tropical fruit aromas of peach, coconut, orange, and mango. The beer emphasizes a silky mouthfeel from oat malt and is framed as a summer-inspired release.
Fukui-based OUR BREWING has introduced Starmine, a new 365ml canned Hazy IPA. The beer is built around bright tropical aromas that evoke peach, coconut, orange, and mango. According to the brewery, hop oil and oat malt give it a silky texture, while the beer comes in at 6.5% ABV and 37.1 IBU.
The label artwork is inspired by summer fireworks. The name "Starmine" refers to a rapid-fire style of fireworks, and the brewery set out to capture that idea by making the aroma unfold in layers as you drink. Rather than relying on a single punchy note, the beer is designed to feel like a sequence of aromas spreading out over time.
Brewing notes
Brewer Nakanishi says one of the main goals for the recipe was to avoid harshness, a common challenge in Hazy IPA production. To do that, the team kept dry hopping relatively restrained and focused on using hops on the hot side of the process. The grist includes Pilsen, Pale Ale, Naked Oats, and Fukui-grown six-row barley malt, while the hop bill features Talus CRYO, Dynaboost Simcoe, Citra CRYO, and Elani.
OUR BREWING continues to build beers from its base in Fukui City, focusing on hop-forward expressions that still remain approachable. Starmine stands out as a seasonal release that connects a vivid summer image with a carefully balanced Hazy IPA structure.
