An international judging field of 1,459 beers

The International Beer Cup, organized by the Japan Craft Beer Association since 1996, was judged in Haneda, Tokyo, from October 3 to 6, 2026. A total of 1,459 beers from 374 breweries and businesses entered the competition, representing 21 countries and regions. The judging panel included 100 judges from 25 countries and regions, with overseas judges making up roughly 60 percent of the panel.

Entries were divided into bottle/can and keg sections, with gold, silver, and bronze medals awarded within each beer style. Yoho Brewing led the gold-medal count with five golds, along with three silvers and one bronze.

Four Dimensions earns silver in a classic pale ale category

OUR BREWING’s Four Dimensions received silver in the bottle/can section’s Classic English-Style Pale Ale category. Setteya Craft’s Setteya Craft Pale Ale, brewed by Yoshinogawa, won gold, while GARCIA BREWING’s BUENAVISTA Nihondaira received bronze. All three medals in the category went to breweries based in Japan.

Four Dimensions is built around a balance of citrus character and sweet, toast-like grain notes. Its clear amber color reflects its classic pale ale profile, while the recipe aims to combine drinkability with enough structure to remain satisfying over several glasses.

The name refers to the four fundamental ingredients of beer—malt, hops, yeast, and water—and the brewery’s effort to bring them together in optimal balance. For OUR BREWING, which has often been recognized for modern styles such as IPA, the medal represents a notable achievement in a more traditional category.

Looking toward the next level from Fukui

Based in Fukui City, OUR BREWING produces a broad range of beers, including IPA-focused releases. The brewery describes this silver medal as an opportunity to examine the gap between silver and gold, and views the international competition as an important way to understand its current quality level through the eyes of judges from around the world.

Four Dimensions is available as a regular pour at the OUR BREWING taproom. It offers beer drinkers a chance to explore both the enduring appeal of classic pale ale and the brewery’s interpretation of the style from Fukui.
