OUR BREWING Announces TOTALFAT Collaboration and New Autumn Beers
Fukui-based OUR BREWING has published its October newsletter, highlighting recent festival appearances, a collaboration with rock band TOTALFAT, and a lineup of beers planned for release this month. The brewery continues to connect its beers with music, sports, and local community events.
OUR BREWING, a craft brewery based in Fukui City, has published its October edition of “Awaブル通信,” sharing updates on recent activities, collaborations, and upcoming beers.
A juicy Hazy IPA for Keyaki Beer Festival
The brewery returned to Keyaki Beer Festival for the third time, brewing “Keyaki Hazy” specifically for the event. The Hazy IPA is described as having rich, juicy flavors reminiscent of pineapple and mandarin orange. Despite some poor weather during the five-day festival, the beer drew repeat pours and take-home can purchases from visitors.
Collaboration with TOTALFAT
OUR BREWING also collaborated with Japanese rock band TOTALFAT on “OUR CHANT,” a beer created to accompany the band’s new song of the same name. Brewed in the XPA, or Extra Pale Ale, style, it combines a crisp, highly drinkable base with expressive hop character. Strawberry, muscat grape, lemon, and grapefruit notes are complemented by moderate bitterness.
TOTALFAT vocalist Jose joined the brewing session in Fukui. “OUR CHANT” will also serve as the official beer of the Sabae JAM Festival, held October 11–12.
Beer experiences beyond the taproom
At Fukui’s ONE PARK FESTIVAL, OUR BREWING served beer alongside hot dog specialist Dogs. The brewery also held its monthly “Awarun” running event with outdoor shop The Gate. Participants ran approximately 5 kilometers through the city before finishing with a beer at the OUR BREWING taproom.
The brewery additionally took part in Hapiline Fukui’s craft beer train. Fifty participants enjoyed OUR BREWING beers aboard a train linking Fukui, Takefu, and Tsuruga while watching the evening scenery pass by.
October releases and events
Planned October releases include IRODORI (Fest Lager), Magic Flavour Ver. Brewer’s Blend (Oat Cream Hazy IPA), Piece of Cake (Hazy IPA), 滉 (Farmhouse Ale with Budo Sansho), NIGHT&DAY (Juicy IPA), and Nana (West Coast IPA).
OUR BREWING is also scheduled to appear at events including the Hamamatsu Craft Beer Festival, Gifu Oktoberfest, Sabae JAM Festival, and Toyama’s one-day “Ruby Re Cool.” The brewery’s October activities show how its Fukui-made beers continue to meet drinkers through music, running, rail travel, and regional festivals.
