Minoh Beer, based in Minoh City, Osaka, has introduced a new release called Grapefruit Sour. The beer is a fruit sour ale built on a sour ale base and brewed with plenty of grapefruit juice, aiming for a balance between bright fruit character and easy drinking.
According to the brewery's post, the beer opens with a fresh grapefruit aroma once poured. On the palate, juicy citrus acidity and a light bitterness spread in a well-balanced way, while the base sour ale contributes a crisp, refreshing acidity. The finish is described as clean and dry. The brewery suggests it as a good option for warm weather, as well as for aperitif and food-pairing occasions.
Sales begin on Friday, June 12 at 5:00 p.m. via the online shop. It will also be available at the WAREHOUSE, and the beer is already being tapped and sold at participating bars and liquor stores across Japan. If you spot it at a nearby shop, it's one to try.
Minoh Beer has long worked with a broad range of styles while keeping classic beer styles at the core of its lineup. This new release reflects that approach: a straightforward seasonal beer with a clear focus on drinkability and fruit expression rather than excess.
