A New Zodiac-Limited IPA for the Year of the Horse

Izumo Brewing Co. announced the release of its new product, "Golden Sacred Horse IPA," as of December 31, 2025. According to the official announcement, this is a Year-of-the-Horse-only beer for 2026. It is a special brew inspired by a "divine horse" racing through the light, made with wishes for challenge, growth, and glory.

The flavor profile is built around the IPA design that the company does best. Based on hop-derived aroma and firm bitterness, the beer pours with a striking golden hue in the glass. In addition, the gold leaf floating through the beer adds a sense of celebration, making it well suited for New Year toasts and milestone drinks.

Limited to 130L, Planned for Both Retail and Online Sales

Only 130 liters will be brewed. Sales are planned not only at the brewery shop but also through its online store on BASE, and the brewery is urging people to check early. The release is notable not just for Year-of-the-Horse commemorative demand, but also for its gift-friendly appeal.

In the Context of a Local Izumo Microbrewery

The company is a microbrewery attached to a directly operated beer stand in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, and while it centers its lineup on IPAs, it emphasizes character through ingredient combinations and adjuncts. On its official website, it states that it dreams of "the day when craft beer becomes ordinary," and it has continued to roll out labels that layer regional identity with storytelling. This new "Golden Sacred Horse IPA" also seems aimed at becoming a beer from Izumo that people choose with meaning at the turn of the year.

An eto beer from a local Izumo brewery also fits well with the recent craft beer market, where limited availability and storytelling matter. For readers looking for a beer to open at the start of the year, this looks like one release not to miss.
