Racco IPA returns

Himitsu Beer, the craft brewery in Ise, Mie, announced on Instagram that its sold-out Racco IPA is back in stock. The post also referenced the large fire that broke out in Ise the day before, noting that while the brewery is some distance from the fire source, the smell of smoke is still lingering outside.

The brewery said it wants to keep moving forward with the work it can do, even while staying attentive to the situation around it. The message reflects a local brewery operating closely with its community, balancing day-to-day brewing with a serious regional event.

The beer itself is a 4.5% ABV Session IPA. The hop bill was adjusted slightly, but the brewery kept the easy-drinking character intact while aiming for a bright, refreshing profile. This batch uses Cryo Citra, Cryo Mosaic, Simcoe, and Mosaic, and was shaped by hops the team had recently enjoyed in Portland and Seattle.

Flavor-wise, the beer is described with berry, grapefruit, and passion fruit notes over a dry malt backbone. The aroma and flavor are bold, but the body stays light. It is the kind of IPA that keeps the hop character vivid without becoming heavy, which makes it a natural fit for Himitsu Beer’s more approachable side of hopping.
