Craft Beer Spot Hathor, a beer pub in Higashinocho, Osaka, has announced two beers currently highlighted at the venue.

South Shinshu Beer — Apple Hop Shinano Sweet ver

Made with Shinano Sweet apples from Nagano Prefecture, Apple Hop Shinano Sweet ver opens with the aroma of ripe fruit. Its gentle sweetness and refreshing acidity are carefully balanced, while a slightly dry finish keeps the beer easy to drink.

The beer offers the bright, expressive character expected from a fruit-inspired brew without becoming overly sweet. Its clean finish should also make it a natural choice alongside food. For drinkers looking for an approachable craft beer with a distinctly Japanese apple character, this is a notable pour.

Karl Strauss — 37th Anniversary Golden Ale

Hathor’s featured beer is Karl Strauss’ 37th Anniversary Golden Ale, brewed to commemorate the brewery’s 37th anniversary. Although it pours a brilliant golden color, its flavor profile is far more robust than the name might suggest, bringing to mind a rich stout.

The beer was aged patiently in bourbon barrels, building layers of coffee, oak, and whiskey-like warmth. Whole coffee beans, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans were also used, creating a luxurious balance of roast, chocolate-like depth, and rounded vanilla character.

This contrast between appearance and flavor is central to the beer’s appeal: a radiant golden pour followed by a powerful, full-bodied finish. Together with the fruit-forward Apple Hop, it gives Hathor’s current selection a broad range of flavors—from crisp and bright to deeply layered and barrel-aged.

Guests should check availability with the pub before visiting, as draft selections can change.
