Today's lineup
Jibeer Bar Marumugi, a small beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku, has posted its June 18 tap list. The bar's regular pricing is JPY 1,200+ for a large pour and JPY 900+ for a small pour, with selected beers carrying an additional JPY 100 charge. The result is a compact but varied lineup from five breweries across Japan.
- 12 DA CAPO / Y.MARKET BREWING (Aichi, 4.5%)
A Kölsch with orange-peel-like aromatics, soft malt sweetness, and gentle bitterness. It is presented as an easygoing beer that tends to invite another glass.
- 其の十 / NO.10 IPA / Shiga Kogen Beer (Nagano, 7.5%)
Described as a strong yet brisk IPA, this is the kind of beer that combines real hop presence with a lighter feel than the ABV might suggest.
- Hoppy Weizen / Minoh Beer (Osaka, 5.0%)
A fragrant Weizen with bright fruit notes and a floral lift.
- Shizuoka Summer Mikan Ale / Baird Brewing (Shizuoka, 5.0%)
A refreshing citrus ale built around summer-mikan character, making it a natural fit for warm weather.
- Third Wave Porter / VECTOR BEER (Tokyo, 4.0%)
A porter that stays surprisingly refreshing despite its dark color, making it suitable for a slower pace or a final drink of the night.
The bar also notes that it has been closed on Tuesdays and public holidays since December 5, 2024. In addition, a July 4 event is being promoted for an original beer project led by rakugo storyteller Kanda Hinomaru, pairing a coffee-aroma special beer with a performance of "Yotsuya Kaidan."
