A basement hideaway with a wide range of draft beers

Located on B1 of Kobe Plaza Hotel on Motomachi-dori in Kobe, "Beer Space On Tap" is a beer pub where you can enjoy craft beer in a calm underground space. Its official website also describes the interior as quiet and old-fashioned, making it a place well suited to a casual drink on the way home from work.

In its latest Instagram post, it starts with `Edelpils` and then presents the current `Today's on Tap` lineup. The beers confirmed are `Y.MARKET BREWING`'s `Lupulin Nectar` and `HOPPING SHACHI`, `GOOD HOPS`'s `Sorachi Ace Respect`, `Choryo Shuzo`'s `HAZY IPA -Spring-`, `Shigakogen Beer`'s `African Pale Ale (Real Ale ver.)`, `Shiokaze Blue Lab`'s `NORA NORA Wild Kiwi Saison`, `SORACHI 1984`, `Let's Beer Works`'s `Belgian Night Fantasia`, and `T.Y HARBOR`'s `Pale Ale`.

Looking at the lineup, it clearly covers a wide range of flavors, from pilsner to hoppy IPA styles, saison, real ale, and pale ale. In particular, the two beers from `Y.MARKET BREWING`, the beer brewed with Sorachi Ace, and Shigakogen Beer's real ale version make it an easy lineup to build a tasting comparison around. The post also notes that some of the beers are "almost tapped out," which means the lineup can change depending on when you go, something that feels very much like this basement hideaway.

Because there are not many seats, this is the kind of place where it is fun to tilt your glass and talk about the taps. If you're looking for a beer in Kobe today, this is the tap list to check before heading out.
