Beer Space on Tap Taps New Nara Brewing Sour IPA
Beer Space on Tap, a craft beer pub in Kobe’s Motomachi district, has tapped Nara Brewing’s IMITATION GOLD. The 5.5% Sour IPA delivers juicy fruit-like character through hops and yeast, without using fruit.
Beer Space on Tap, a craft beer pub located in the basement of Kobe Plaza Hotel in Motomachi, Kobe, has added Nara Brewing’s IMITATION GOLD to its tap list.
IMITATION GOLD is Nara Brewing’s first Sour IPA. At 5.5% ABV and 20 IBU, it combines Peacharine, Krush, Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops with yeast that produces lactic acidity. The result is a beer with aromas reminiscent of citrus, white grapes, peach and tropical fruit, followed by a juicy palate and a clean, refreshing acidity.
The beer uses no fruit. Instead, its fruit-like impression comes from the interaction between the hop blend and fermentation, making it an interesting choice for drinkers who enjoy modern sour ales and expressive hop character.
The day’s tap list also includes CRAFT BEER BASE’s PALE ALE and leaf, Thrilla Beach’s PEANUT BUTTER VANILLA MILK STOUT, Yotei Brewing’s EXPDTN (Expedition), and Free Spirits Brewing’s Roku and Nigami Arawa.
With options ranging from a bright pale ale to a dessert-like milk stout and hop-forward bitter beers, the lineup offers plenty to explore. The smoke-free beer bar is suited to solo visits as well as relaxed after-work stops, making it a fitting destination for a cool evening in Kobe.
