A 9th-anniversary milestone

Nara Beer Naramachi Brewery reported on Instagram that it has reached its ninth anniversary. In the post, the brewery expressed gratitude to the customers, staff, and supporters who have backed the shop to date, and said it plans to rethink the role of its taproom going forward.

From a place where people have leisurely enjoyed beer and food together, it will gradually shift toward a place where craft beer itself can be savored more deeply and more simply. It also seems to be mindful of becoming a starting point for circulation around the local area, where visitors to Naramachi can enjoy their beer and then head out on foot into the surrounding town.

The commemorative beer is “Strawberry Weizen”

To mark the anniversary, the brewery prepared “Strawberry Weizen,” a Weizen long loved as a regular beer, brewed with fresh strawberries harvested in Nara. In the post, the beer is introduced as featuring the rich aroma of strawberries, a moderate tartness, and the soft mouthfeel typical of a Weizen.

While fruity, it is designed not to overwhelm the character of the Weizen, making it an appealing seasonal pour. As a limited spring release, it is a fitting anniversary pairing that shows how local ingredients were incorporated into the beer.

The post also included photos of the shop exterior, with its distinctive wooden lattice, and the “NARA BEER” sign. As a brewery based in Naramachi, Nara City, it conveys the ninth-year milestone along with the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The brewery plans to announce its future operating style separately.
