CRAFT BEER BASE's West Coast IPA Newly Tapped at CRAFT PORT FUNABASHI
In a post on April 27, CRAFT PORT FUNABASHI announced a new tap of West Coast IPA and spring cabbage and shirasu peperoncino. Right after tapping, they say you can also enjoy a slightly hazy, fresh expression.
Newly Tapped
The beer pub on the second floor along Honcho-dori, near Funabashi Station, CRAFT PORT FUNABASHI, introduced a new draft beer in a post on April 27. This time's new tap is West Coast IPA (CRAFT BEER BASE). It is presented as a beer blended with four kinds of hops, layering passion-fruit-like juiciness with subtle green-herb nuances.
Right after tapping, one highlight is that if you visit early, you can drink it in a slightly hazy, freshly poured state. Being able to confirm the IPA's sharply defined aroma with the momentum of a just-opened keg is, in itself, part of the fun of following draft beer.
Food Pairing
On the food side, spring cabbage and shirasu peperoncino is featured. It is a dish that makes generous use of seasonal spring cabbage, and the post describes it as a great match for the refreshing Departure. Building the lineup around beer and pairing it with seasonal dishes is very much in keeping with this shop's style.
The Appeal of the Shop
One of CRAFT PORT FUNABASHI's attractions is being able to watch beer being poured from the counter seats. It also offers beer flights that let you sample the rotating weekly taps in small amounts, making it convenient for anyone who wants to compare different beers. The hashtags at the end of the post also include Shirosuzume, Sakura Brewery, YELLOW BEER WORKS, In a daze Brewing, HEISEI BREWING, Bifuka Shirakaba Brewery, Hop Kotan Brewing, and Asunaro Brewery, showing the shop's commitment to tracking a wide range of craft beer.
