CraftBeerSpot Hathor opens Island Brewery strawberry sour ale on Aug. 29
CraftBeerSpot Hathor in Kyobashi, Osaka, has released its Aug. 29 draft lineup. The highlight is Island Brewery's Strawberry Sour Ale, a long-running seasonal favorite made with strawberries from Iki Island. The board also spans classic lagers, IPAs, and stronger ales.
Featured Pour
At CraftBeerSpot Hathor in Kyobashi, Osaka, the Aug. 29 lineup opens with Island Brewery's `STRAWBERRY SOUR ALE`. Now in its sixth year, the beer is brewed with 120 kg of strawberries from Iki Island in a 600 L batch. The fruit used again this year is the Koi-Minori variety, and the beer is shaped around a clean sour profile.
Recommended Drafts
Also recommended are `Arrogant Bastard Ale` from `Arrogant Consortia (Stone)` and `37th Anniversary Golden Ale` from `Karl Strauss`. The former is presented as a landmark American strong ale. The latter is an anniversary release aged in bourbon barrels, with coffee, oak, vanilla, and whiskey-like warmth layered into a rich finish.
On The Board
The draft board also includes `Yorimichi no Lager` from `Isekadoya Beer`, `Yebisu` from `Sapporo Beer`, `Where the Wind Begins` from `Paint Palette`, `Kinoni Pale Ale Real Ale Ver` from `Onidensetsu Beer`, `Double Swisher` and `Locomotion` from `Nara Brewing`, `Apple Hop Fuji Ver` from `Minamishinsyu Beer`, `Weiss IPA` from `Minoh Beer`, and `Snow Monkey IPA Orange Label` from `Shiga Kogen Beer`.
With 16 taps and smoked dishes on offer, Hathor is set up as a place where drinkers can move from familiar lager to fruit-driven sour and onto more assertive ale styles in one sitting.
