Uchoten Brewing Reveals Details of "AMBER" for BAMBOO4's Anniversary
Nagano-based Uchoten Brewing has revealed the design concept behind its collaboration beer "AMBER," brewed to commemorate the first anniversary of the craft beer shop BAMBOO4 in Noge, Yokohama. According to the post, outside sales have ended, and only a small amount remains for taproom service.
On March 16, 2026, Uchoten Brewing introduced AMBER / Czech Style Amber Lager 13°, saying it was posting the beers it had released in sequence because it had not been able to share them at all.
This beer was created as a collaboration to celebrate the first anniversary of BAMBOO4 (@bamboo4craftbeer) in Noge, Yokohama. The post describes it as featuring malt-derived flavors reminiscent of caramel, nuts, and toast, along with a smooth mouthfeel that is lighter than its color might suggest.
On the recipe side, Floor Malted Bohemian Pilsner and Floor Malted Bohemian Dark were used as the base. In addition, Carabohemian Malt and Melanoidin malt were combined, and the beer was brewed with a double decoction process. The hops are Kazbek and Saaz, and the yeast is Urkel. The specs are ABV 5.5% / IBU 32 / FG 1.012.
The post also mentions that the beer was made while taking advantage of Nagano's water profile, saying it "made use of Suwa's soft water." The result is a brew that combines a Czech-style design with an approach to brewing that takes the local water quality as a starting point.
As for availability, the post says that as of publication, outside sales have ended and only a small amount remains in the taproom. As for food pairings, it recommends roast meat dishes and sausages.
