On July 24, Osaka Shibutani Brewing posted on Instagram that it would also be selling beer on Saturday, July 25, in front of Nishinippon Shoten in Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, 2-chome, in Osaka's Kita Ward. The post featured two beers: Tenma Tenjin Ale and Kurogoma Stout.
According to the brewery's official site, Tenma Tenjin Ale is a local beer sold only in the Tenma Tenjin area. It is described as a dark ale brewed with sacred water from Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, with a mellow profile that pairs well with sauced dishes. Bringing that beer to a busy shopping street makes the brewery's neighborhood-focused approach easy to see.
Osaka Shibutani Brewing is based in Fujiidera, Osaka, and says it began craft brewing in the spring of 2022. Its brand story draws on Osaka's history as the birthplace of domestically brewed beer, while building a lineup rooted in local themes and ingredients. The July 25 sale fits that direction well: a regionally themed beer, presented in a familiar urban setting.
