New Release "Nahual"

The newly released beer from And Beer Katsunuma Brewery is Nahual. The style is Mexican Dark Lager, and the alcohol content is 5.3%.

This beer was created by Andy, And Beer's new brewer, who built the recipe around the idea of a "dry, dark lager" he drank in Mexico. It is presented as a lager meant to be easy to drink, with some roasted character while keeping heaviness in check.

The Idea Behind the Name

The name "Nahual" comes from a Mesoamerican spirit. In the post, it is described as a being that connects the material world and the metaphysical world, and it is also linked to the beer's clear, refined finish. Even with its dark color, the beer seems designed so that its aftertaste does not linger heavily.

Where It's Available and How It's Sold

The release is starting sequentially at the brewery's own taprooms: @andbeer_koenji, @olla_andbeer_asagaya, and @andbeer_yamanashi. Sales will end once it sells out, and customers are directed to check each store's Instagram for details. In addition, keg sales for restaurants have also begun through the business-to-business EC site.

About And Beer Katsunuma Brewery

And Beer is a brewery based in Katsunuma, Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Surrounded by an area known for its wineries, it continues to make beers with an eye toward seasonality and food pairing, and it has also worked on barrel-aged beers using wine barrels. Another hallmark is its ongoing, regionally rooted messaging that connects Katsunuma's local character with its shops in Koenji and Asagaya in Tokyo.

This "Nahual" also stands out as a beer that combines the kind of storytelling and drinkability that are characteristic of And Beer.
