Great Dane Brewing releases seasonal Oktoberfest lager in kegs and cans
Great Dane Brewing, based in Taihaku Ward, Sendai, is now offering its award-winning Oktoberfest beer on draft and in cans. The lager is brewed in line with the traditional style, using Munich malt and Hallertau hops.
Great Dane Brewing is offering its seasonal OKTOBERFEST in both draft and canned formats. Based in Taihaku Ward, Sendai, the brewery presents the beer under its long-running message, “Wisconsin Born. Sendai Brewed.”
A classic Oktoberfest style
The beer takes inspiration from the traditional Oktoberfest celebration, which traces back to a Bavarian royal wedding feast held in October 1810. In keeping with that heritage, this release is brewed as a traditional Oktoberfest lager.
The recipe uses Munich malt and Hallertau hops from Germany. According to the brewery, the beer brings together toasted-bread-like malt sweetness with a crisp, refreshing bitterness. It is a lager at 5% ABV. The canned version has a shelf life of four months from production and should be stored in a cool, dark place.
Design with Bavarian colors
The label design draws on the blue and white colors of the Bavarian flag, reinforcing the seasonal theme visually as well as in flavor.
As an autumn beer style, Oktoberfest is known for its balance of malt depth and clean drinkability. Great Dane Brewing’s release follows that classic profile closely, making it available now for fans who want to enjoy the season in draft or can form.
