October 22 lineup
Jimbeer Bar Marumugi, located on the second floor of Ichibankan Building in Arakicho, Shinjuku, is serving five craft beers. The listed prices are 1,300 yen for a large serving and 1,000 yen for a small serving, making the selection suitable for both a single pint and a tasting-style visit.
The standout fruit beer is Minami-Shinshu Beer’s “Apple Hop Shinano Gold Ver.” at 6.5% ABV. Made with apples from the Ina Valley in Nagano, it combines the refreshing acidity and juicy aroma of Shinano Gold apples with malt and hops. The brewery’s description also highlights moderate body, spicy notes, and a lingering apple sweetness.
For an easy-drinking option, Ushitora Brewery’s “Jikkuri Kotokoto Shikonda Pils” comes in at 5.5%. It is presented as a carefully brewed pilsner designed to be enjoyed in generous, refreshing gulps.
Minoh Beer’s “KANSHA29 -Rice IPA-” offers a 6.0% ABV choice with a bright aroma and light, lively drinkability. The beer is described as a commemorative release celebrating the brewery’s 29th anniversary.
Those looking for a more forceful hop presence can try Ise Kadoya Beer’s 7.0% “Imperial Red Ale.” Marumugi presents it as an immersive hop experience rather than simply a high-alcohol beer.
Baird Brewing’s “Rising Sun Pale Ale” rounds out the list at 5.5%. Its defining features are citrusy hop aroma and bitterness, hallmarks of this brewery staple.
With fruit beer, lager, IPA, red ale, and pale ale all represented, Marumugi’s lineup offers a broad range of flavors in a compact selection. The pub is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays; availability may change, so checking before visiting is recommended.
