Craft Beer & Wine THE DODO HOUSE, a beer pub in Meguro, shared its draft beer lineup for Friday, July 3. The bar said it would be open from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, with all table seats fully booked by reservation. Counter seats were still available, making it a practical stop for one or two guests.
New tap: Ichigo Hazy IPA
The day’s new keg was Ishinomaki Hop Works’ “Ichigo Hazy IPA.” According to the post, it is a fruit-forward hazy IPA brewed with strawberries from Ishinomaki. The beer is described as having a silky texture, a balance of strawberry acidity and gentle sweetness, and relatively low bitterness. Lactose is used as well, though the beer is not positioned as a full milkshake IPA. The brewery note also says the strawberry character becomes more distinct as the beer warms up.
Other beers on tap
The rest of the lineup included Orion Beer’s “Orion Draft,” Kankiku Brewery’s “Kankiku Weizen,” Our Brewing’s “New Classic,” Numazu Craft’s “Shimagengou Peach Saison,” Y.Market Brewing’s “Biatex #13 Rainy Jacket,” and Shimanami Brewery’s “Lager no Gyakushuu 01 Smoke Lager.”
With lager, weizen, saison, and hazy IPA all on the board, the range is broad enough to suit different moods and palates. THE DODO HOUSE sits in the Meguro area and is the kind of beer pub where you can drop in for a casual pint or stay longer to compare styles. The post also notes that bench seating is available without a charge, and takeout is offered as well.
