Great Dane Brewing introduced the brewing story behind "TENTEN," a collaboration beer created for the "11th Tenten ~ Akiu Craft Fair ~" held at Akiu Kinoie Lodge Village. On Instagram, the brewery shared "Part 2: Video Edition," explaining the background of the brew and the direction of its flavor profile.

According to the post, TENTEN is a beer born from a collaboration with Teshigoto AKIU. To reflect the climate of the area, surrounded by the historic Akiu Onsen hot spring area, the Natori River, and lush forests, the brewers chose spring water from the Futakuchi Valley for the brew. The beer style is Belgian-style witbier, designed to deliver a refreshing citrus aroma and a soft, rounded body.

The name "TENTEN" carries the meaning of connecting point to point. It is positioned as a drink that links people with people, makers with users, and nature with everyday life, aligning with the spirit of the craft fair.

Great Dane Brewing was founded in Wisconsin, U.S., in 1994 and opened its brewery in Akiu, Taihaku Ward, Sendai, in January 2024. Its attached restaurant serves dishes made with Miyagi ingredients alongside freshly brewed beer. This TENTEN is also drawing attention as a limited collaboration beer that reflects Akiu’s character and handcraft culture.

The "11th Tenten ~ Akiu Craft Fair ~" is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, 2026. Great Dane Brewing says it will serve its new limited-time beer at the venue.
