At the beer pub Sekimachi Cellar in Sekimachi Higashi, Nerima Ward, Tokyo, new draft beers were announced. The shop follows a standing-style setup attached to a liquor store, and at the drink counter on the first floor you can enjoy mainly draft craft beer by the glass. On the second-floor terrace, you can also enjoy the liquor and snacks you bought on the spot.

In this post, the first new arrival is Yuya Boys' "Flower Children / Sweetpea." It is a DIPA, the second release in the Flower Children series, and is introduced as featuring a firm hop-driven bitterness along with grapefruit and tropical fruit notes. In addition, Shiga Kogen's "Africa Pale Ale" has been put on nitro, giving it a smoother mouthfeel different from carbonation.

Other taps currently on are Namat-chan's "Sakura Smoke Lager," DD4D x Sekimachi Cellar's "haruKa" Hazy IPA, Beer Vista's "VISTA LAGAR," Tall Boys x DD4D's "Emerald Spire" Hazy IPA, Teenage's "Cherry Blossom Road" Sour IPA, and WCB's "Full Hop Alchemist v29" Hazy DIPA. From a smoke lager made by smoking malt with cherry wood to hazy, sour, and DIPA styles, the lineup offers a wide range and plenty of fun for side-by-side tasting.

Sekimachi Cellar is also a specialty liquor store that carries a broad range of sake, shochu, wine, and whiskey, while its craft beer selection spans limited small-batch releases, standards, and overseas labels. Whether you stop in for just one beer or compare several, this opening lineup is worth checking out.
