Fukuoka Craft Brewing Releases Two New IPAs Inspired by Okagaki’s Mountains and Sea
Fukuoka Craft Brewing in Okagaki, Fukuoka, will release two new IPAs on September 11, 2026: MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE, inspired by the mountains surrounding the brewery, and OCEAN ADVENTURE, a tribute to nearby Hatsu Beach. Each beer highlights a distinct hop character.
Fukuoka Craft Brewing, based in Okagaki, Fukuoka Prefecture, has announced two new IPAs for its September lineup. Scheduled for release on September 11, 2026, MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE and OCEAN ADVENTURE draw directly from the natural landscape around the brewery.
A fresh, vibrant mountain-inspired IPA
MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE pays tribute to the mountains near the brewery, including Mount Yukawa and Mount Kodai-ji. The beer uses Simcoe and Chinook hops, creating a refreshing and energetic aroma. Fukuoka Craft describes the profile as powerful and fresh, evoking the pine forests of Okagaki and the pleasant breeze moving through the trees.
Fruity depth from the coast
OCEAN ADVENTURE takes its inspiration from Hatsu Beach, located close to the brewery. Known as a surfing and windsurfing destination, the beach is also noted for its clear sandy shore, where sea turtles come to lay their eggs.
The beer features the distinctive Anchovy hop. Its aroma and flavor suggest melon, peach, and apricot, offering a rich, fruit-forward character that expresses the scale and beauty of Okagaki’s coast.
Fukuoka Craft Brewing’s brewery is surrounded by mountains, fields, and the sea, giving the new releases a strong sense of place. The brewery describes its mission as bringing craft beer culture from Fukuoka, with American-style influences and beers designed to create smiles and memorable experiences. Its Okagaki facility also offers brewery tours, allowing visitors to enjoy fresh beer on site.
The two releases present contrasting ways to explore the area: a crisp, hop-driven expression of the mountains and a lush, fruit-forward interpretation of the ocean. They are well suited to an autumn tasting session focused on how landscape can shape a beer’s identity.
