Marumugi in Shinjuku Opens Five Draft Beers, from Fruit IPA to Alt
Marumugi, a beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku, has posted its August 7 draft lineup. The taps include a meat-friendly session IPA, apple- and lemon-driven beers, a classic alt, and a hop-forward West Coast IPA.
Today’s Lineup
At Jibeer Bar Marumugi in Arakicho, Shinjuku, today’s draft beers are listed at JPY 1,200+ for a large glass / JPY 900+ for a small glass. The lineup brings together five beers with clear differences in aroma, bitterness, and malt character.

5.0% / +JPY 100. A session IPA designed to complement meat dishes.
- Apple Hop Shinanogold Ver. / Minamishinshu Beer
6.5%. A fruit beer with bright Nagano apple aroma.
- Nichinan Lemon Fresh-Squeezed Session Hazy IPA / Miyazaki Hideji Beer
4.5% / +JPY 100. Built around the fresh, lively character of lemon juice.
- Alt / Yokohama Beer
5.5%. A traditional alt with toasty malt flavor and a smooth, gentle body.
- HOP SNIPEER IPA / Ushitora Brewery
6.5% / +JPY 100. A West Coast IPA featuring Motueka, Strata, and Amarillo.
The lineup balances fruit-forward beers, a malt-driven classic, and two hop-focused IPAs, making it easy to choose by mood. Marumugi’s location in a second-floor building in Arakicho fits the style of a small beer pub where rotating taps are part of the appeal. The shop is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays from December 5, 2024.
