Minoh Beer, based in Minoh City, Osaka, has long focused on classic beer styles while also releasing seasonal and experimental beers. This Coffee IPA is a collaboration with Takamura, a local Osaka coffee shop known for its original roasting, and it is part of a project the two companies have continued for several years.

This release uses a coffee variety called “COLOMBIA FOREST Pink Bourbon Creation.” According to the brewery’s announcement, the beans are said to bring a delicate floral aroma, sweet caramel notes, and a subtle tropical fruit character. Takamura roasts them with a light roast approach designed to highlight the bean’s fruit-like character and lingering sweetness. On the beer side, the recipe combines pale malt with a small amount of wheat malt to keep the finish crisp while adding softness.

As an IPA, it is brewed with generous amounts of American hops, creating a blend of citrus hop aroma and the lively fruit character of the coffee. The beer is listed at 6.0% ABV and 40 IBU, with an amber color. Ingredients are malt, hops, and coffee beans; it is unfiltered and recommended for serving at 6 to 8 degrees Celsius.

The beer will be available in 330 ml bottles and on draft. Distribution to restaurants and liquor retailers begins around June 29, while sales on the official online shop start at 5:00 p.m. on July 3. For a brewery rooted in Minoh, this release offers another look at how coffee and beer can be brought together through careful brewing choices.
