Ebiru Brew Studio, the brewery-run taproom in Sumiyoshi Higashimachi, Higashinada Ward, Kobe, has posted its May operating calendar on Instagram. The brewery, which began brewing in 2024, is known for centering its activities on original craft beer while combining storefront operations with event appearances.

In this announcement, the brewery first expressed gratitude to everyone who came to its second-anniversary celebration, then commented that it will continue striving to make things even more enjoyable as it heads into its third year. It also reported that in the first half of May it had set up a booth at the local festival Uhara Matsuri on Saturday, May 9.

Among the upcoming plans, the most eye-catching is the beer yoga session starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15. It will be held in the second-floor, old-house-style space, offering a chance to enjoy the shift from dusk into night, and the number of seats has reportedly been increased. Reservations are accepted via DM.

Also, on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, it will appear at CRAFT BEER LIVE, one of the largest beer festivals in Kansai. The event will be held at Nanko ATC Piloti Plaza and will bring together more than 50 breweries from across Kansai's six prefectures. The brewery says its shop will remain open as usual, so Ebiru beer can be enjoyed both at the venue and at the store.

In addition, from Wednesday, May 27, to Tuesday, June 2, the couple will be away for Nordic beer training. During that period, from Thursday, May 28, to Sunday, May 31, Hyogo Brewing, which is planning to open a brewery in Sanda in the fall, will handle the pop-up service. A collaborative beer, Nordic Red Ale, with berry-like and malt-forward notes, is also scheduled to be tapped on May 28. It looks set to be a slightly different lineup than usual.

In addition, the brewery will be closed temporarily on Wednesday, May 27; Monday, June 1; and Tuesday, June 2, and a Sumiyoshigawa plogging event is also planned for Sunday, May 31. In June, it is also planning a bottle-sharing session for rare Nordic beers brought back home, as well as a sushi pairing event. The Sumiyoshi brewery continues to offer a wide range of ways to enjoy itself this month, moving back and forth between local events and in-house projects.
