2026 Edition West Coast IPA Returns with a Renewed Recipe

According to the product page on the Choryo Sake Brewery online shop, "WEST COAST IPA 2026" is a limited-release beer that has "returned after a major recipe renewal from last year." The product copy describes it as a "boldly dank, classic IPA," with berry, orange, and grapefruit as the core of its aroma. It is also designed to balance drinkability and body by layering in the sweet impression of a distinctly IPA-like "dank" character and malt-derived caramel notes.

The specs list the style as IPA, with ALC and IBU currently undecided. The ingredients are barley malt (produced in Canada and Germany), hops, and wheat malt. The hops used are Pink, Mosaic, Equanot Cryo, Centennial Cryo, Clumbus, and Magnum. It is sold as a set of six 360 ml bottles, priced at 3,900 yen (4,290 yen including tax).

Shipping Date and Freshness Window

The release announcement says it will ship on or after March 19, 2026. The product page also clearly states that the filling date is March 18, 2026 and recommends drinking it within 30 days of filling. Because the beer is designed to highlight hop aroma, it is best opened soon after arrival so the fragrance can be enjoyed at its peak. Shipping is by refrigerated delivery (additional fee applies), and it cannot be purchased together with non-beer items.

From a Local Base in Korozu

Choryo Sake Brewery is based in Koryo Town, Kita-Katsuragi District, Nara Prefecture, and produces both sake and craft beer. This "WEST COAST IPA 2026" release is also notable as a look at how a regionally rooted brewery interprets the current trend of "dank-style IPAs." Rather than leaning only on straightforward bitterness, what stands out for drinkers is likely to be the balance of fruit aromas, sweet nuances, and caramel character.
