Pecora Beer, a small craft brewery based in Asao Ward, Kawasaki, has announced its latest beer, “#060 Peren.” The beer is a DDH NZ IPA with an ABV of 7.5% and an IBU of 20.

Peren is described as a pale, hazy IPA with expressive hop aromas reminiscent of tropical fruit and white grapes. The brewery used Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin, and DynaBoost Mosaic, steeping them at a low temperature to develop the beer’s aromatic profile. During the second dry-hopping stage, Pecora Beer also added “Citra Quantum,” a hop-derived liquid aroma extract developed by Abstrax Hops.

The resulting beer is designed to offer a juicy aroma, smooth mouthfeel, and restrained bitterness. Despite its 7.5% alcohol content, the relatively dry finish is intended to make the beer feel light, crisp, and easy to drink. Its profile brings together the aromatic intensity associated with New Zealand-style IPA and a clean, refreshing finish.

The name Peren comes from Perendale, a sheep breed developed in New Zealand. The reference fits naturally with Pecora Beer’s sheep-themed identity.

Pecora Beer began brewing in July 2024 in Asao Ward, Kawasaki. Its founder, who also holds a beer judge qualification, brews beers primarily in clean and bold American styles. The brewery operates Pecora Beer Kitchen, a taproom attached to the brewery where visitors can enjoy up to nine house beers alongside food.
