Sakadō Brewing Serves WCB’s "Starwatcher" and "Fresh Powder"
Sakadō Brewing in Tachikawa has introduced two beers from West Coast Brewing (WCB) in Shizuoka’s Mochimune: "Starwatcher" and "Fresh Powder." The lineup features a classic West Coast IPA and a DDH Hazy Double IPA, both available at both Sakadō Taproom and Sakadō North.
Known as one of Tachikawa’s craft beer destinations, Sakadō Brewing has highlighted two beers from West Coast Brewing (WCB) in Shizuoka’s Mochimune. With two locations, Sakadō Brewing operates as a place where visitors can enjoy a wide range of beers, from modern styles and beyond, at both the taproom and Sakadō North.
The lineup this time features Starwatcher, one of WCB’s signature beers, and the seasonal DDH Hazy Double IPA Fresh Powder. Starwatcher is a West Coast IPA brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe, offering dank aromas reminiscent of pine and resin, layered with citrus notes of orange and grapefruit. It was also WCB’s first brewed beer, making it a release that clearly reflects the brand’s core identity.
Fresh Powder, on the other hand, is an 8.5% DDH Hazy Double IPA brewed with El Dorado, Strata, Motueka, and Nelson Sauvin. According to WCB’s description, it is designed to deliver fruit-forward notes evoking mango, pineapple, ripe peach, and melon, with refreshing hints of citrus and grape. Despite its richness, it finishes with a lingering bitterness that serves as an accent.
In Sakadō Brewing’s post, these two beers are being offered at both the taproom and Sakadō North. Being able to compare a sharply defined West Coast IPA with the layered fruitiness of a Hazy beer in Tachikawa is a welcome treat for beer fans. It’s the kind of WCB hop expression you’ll want to experience for yourself at a local Tachikawa spot.
