Ten days of IPA in Tachikawa

Sakamichi Brewing will hold an “IPA Fest” from Friday, September 18, through Sunday, September 27. During the event, special guest IPAs will be available on tap at the Taproom, giving visitors the chance to explore beers from breweries beyond Sakamichi’s own lineup.

India pale ale is defined by its hop-driven aroma and bitterness. Depending on the hops and brewing methods, an IPA may show notes of citrus, tropical fruit, pine, herbs, or stone fruit, with bitterness ranging from crisp and assertive to soft and rounded. Tasting several beers side by side should offer a useful look at the differences between breweries and recipes.

Food pop-ups at North

Food pop-ups will also take place at Sakamichi Brewing’s North location during the festival. IPA’s aromatic bitterness pairs naturally with grilled foods, spicy dishes, and salty snacks, so the event will offer an opportunity to enjoy beer alongside food as well as on its own.

Sakamichi Brewing was founded in Tachikawa, Tokyo, in 2020. The brewery added an on-site brewing facility in 2022 and opened a second location near the north exit of Tachikawa Station in 2024. Alongside its locally rooted taprooms, it produces a broad range of styles, including hop-forward IPAs.

Details of the guest beers and food vendors are expected through the brewery’s official channels. Beer drinkers visiting Tachikawa between September 18 and 27 can look forward to exploring the IPA lineup at the Taproom and pairing it with food at North.
