Mie-based Himitsu Beer revealed the status of its latest fruit beer brew in a post dated March 14, 2026. This time, the star ingredient is grapefruit grown by the brewery itself. According to the post, the harvest came to "about 50 fruits," and because it was the first harvest, the fruit was left to fully ripen on the tree before brewing.

The flow from growing the fruit to turning it into beer is exactly the kind of ingredient-driven approach that defines craft beer. Rather than simply using fruit as a secondary ingredient, the brewery is reflecting the harvest timing itself in the flavor design, which makes the aroma and acidity balance of the finished beer especially worth watching.

The post also says the brewery is "looking forward to seeing how it turns out" and that it "still has some time before completion," so at this stage it is still in the brewing phase. The release date and serving start will be announced later.

The same post also shared release information for an existing beer in the lineup, Mabudachi SAISON (farmhouse ale with chipotle and lime / ABV 5%). While waiting for the new grapefruit beer, there is also something you can drink right now, which is part of the charm of a small brewery that changes with the seasons.
