At Y.Y.G. FACTORY in Chiba City, serving of two collaboration beers with MAHOWBREW of Naha, Okinawa, began on April 3. Y.Y.G. Brewery is a brewery whose main shop is a microbrewery near Tokyo's Shinjuku, and later established a beer factory in Chiba Prefecture where anyone can enjoy beer. This project is the second installment of "ROAD to 10th Anniv." leading up to the 10th anniversary.

This collaboration was realized as a “cross collaboration,” in which the brewers from both breweries visited each other's locations and brewed on the other's equipment. Brewed in Y.Y.G.'s tanks was Wyrm's Bite. The style is Imperial Honey Gose, built on Pilsner malt, Flaked Wheat, and Honey, combined with Philly Sour yeast, Okinawan kabuchii, honey, and salt. With an ABV of 11%, it is structured around layered sweetness, tartness, and saltiness.

Meanwhile, Yfel Yatagarasu, brewed in MAHOWBREW's tanks, is a Biere de Garde made with sake yeast. It uses Pale Ale, Munich, Red X, Melanoidin, and Flaked Rice, along with Hallertau Tradition hops and a combination of BMK3 and WLP500. It has an ABV of 6.5% and an IBU of 22. The design centers on aromas from sake yeast and a malty fullness.

Though the two beers head in different directions, both are finished to express their own character while drawing on the other's individuality. At Y.Y.G. FACTORY in Chiba, this is a release worth paying attention to as a marker of where things stand heading toward the 10th anniversary.
