Kakuida Brewery, a small brewery inside the black-vinegar restaurant Kurozu no Sato Kakuida in Kirishima, Kagoshima, is selling a new sherry-cask-aged stout called Wood-Aged Milk Stout. The brewery says it applies the maturation know-how it has developed through black-vinegar brewing to its beer-making process.

The beer is aged slowly in sherry casks. According to the official description, roasted malt brings a toasty aroma, while the cask adds a bright, rich layer of fragrance. On the palate, a subtle acidity sharpens the profile, followed by a milky, rounded sweetness. The beer is described as full-bodied yet smooth, with a long, complex finish.

Key specs are straightforward: 750ml, 9.0% ABV, and 75 IBU. The ingredients list includes malted barley (made in the UK and Germany), hops, barley, and sugars including lactose and brown sugar. It is priced at 3,800 yen including tax.

The beer ships in a dedicated gift box, which makes it an easy choice for gifting. The official shop also notes that shipping may take some time depending on order volume. For drinkers looking for a stout with barrel-derived depth and the soft sweetness of a milk stout, this is a focused and expressive release.
