Tachikawa-based Sakado Brewing announced this month’s "#craftbeerun" on Instagram. The event will take place on Sunday, March 22. The meeting point is Sakado North, and members of the running community "@tripperswtrc" will lead the run.

The announced details are as follows.

- 10:15 Meetup (Sakado North)
- 10:30 Start (3 km / 7 km)
- 11:30 Beer service begins
- Participants who finish while wearing a Sakado shirt will receive one free beer
- Beginners and first-timers are welcome

As a beer event, what’s interesting is that it designs the experience of running and drinking along the same flow. With the distance split into two choices, 3 km and 7 km, it opens the door not only to people who run regularly but also to those who want to join at a lighter pace. The post also explicitly says, "Beginners and first timers are absolutely welcome," showing a clear effort to lower the barrier to participation.

On its official website, Sakado Brewing describes itself as a brewery focused on "creating a modern, welcoming place in Tachikawa" and "craft beer brewing in western Tokyo." This craft beer run can be seen as a direct extension of that philosophy into a city event. The flow of gathering with friends over beer after the run is very much in line with the brewery’s approach of connecting taproom culture with the local community.
