THE DODO HOUSE Opens the 12th Kankiku “Ifu Dodo” Barrel in Meguro
Craft Beer & Wine THE DODO HOUSE in Meguro has opened the 12th barrel of “Ifu Dodo,” brewed by Kankiku Brewery with the pub, alongside RePuBrew’s fonio-based Dortmunder “Fonio=Beer.”
Craft Beer & Wine THE DODO HOUSE, a beer pub in Meguro, Tokyo, announced two new keg openings on September 10, 2026.
The highlight is “Ifu Dodo,” a British Lager brewed by Kankiku Brewery and THE DODO HOUSE. The pub says this is the 12th barrel, with demand progressing faster than for its eighth-anniversary beer, “Hakuchu Dodo.”
The second new beer is RePuBrew’s “Fonio=Beer,” a Dortmunder made with fonio, an ancient grain from Africa. It offers a full malt character, gentle fruitiness, and a dry finish with lingering malt flavor. The beer is presented as a slightly luxurious take on the style.
The tap list also includes Iwate Kura Beer English IPA; Chain Smoker from Hino Brewing and Hitomi Winery; Reflection Beer’s Peach White IPA ~Yumemizuki ver.~; Maruka Brewing Coconut Porter; and Kamado Brewery and Daisen G Beer’s Weizen Master.
THE DODO HOUSE is open from 5 p.m. to midnight. Guests can enjoy the beers inside, use the outdoor bench without a charge, or order takeaway. Its broad selection, ranging from lagers and IPAs to porter and weizen, makes it a useful stop for beer fans exploring the Meguro area.
